The Story

My name is Suzette Sutton and music has been an active part of my life for as long as I can remember. No matter how hectic things got when I was growing up music was always my constant. It is a universal language that we all understand.

Whenever one of my girlfriends had a baby my first thought for a gift from Aunt Suze was a lullaby CD. I had a specific sound in mind, but no matter how hard I searched I couldn’t find it.

I believe music has the ability to invoke various kinds of emotions.
Haven’t we all heard a particular song at one time or another that has taken us back to that moment in time when we felt a certain way? Feelings of love, joy, serenity, etc. come flooding back when we hear them; this is why I created Lullaby Baby.

I believe the gift that music gives us can be used to help foster intimacy for a child as well. My intention is to help them feel as though they are in the same safe and nurturing environment they were in while they were in their mother’s womb. To do this I have taken the ambient sounds and layered them with a light acoustic guitar and intimate vocals. There are no strong shifts in tone or volume of the songs as to not disturb the baby’s sleep. The songs were chosen not only for their message but their comforting tone as well. In a world that has become busy with mom and dad getting stretched in every direction I’m hoping this CD will assist parents and enhance the experience of their child being sung to sleep.
